My husband and I have two kids and were blessed to be expecting another little one in September. A little back story to explain how special this little girl is. My very first pregnancy I ended up having a miscarriage at 6 weeks. As anyone would be we were devastated. My expected due date was supposed to be September 26th. A few nights after my miscarriage, I had a very vivid dream that Jesus was showing me that it was a baby girl and reassuring me that she would be okay. This gave me some peace.
I struggled again when we started trying to have another baby after our son was 2 years old. I miscarried, but then got pregnant right after just like with my son. When I found out I was pregnant with this baby I was so nervous that I would miscarry since that was the pattern of my last babies. But God had different plans. My due date was September 26th and it was a girl. I knew this was God’s way of giving me baby first baby back.
I am 35 years old so I definitely felt this pregnancy. I really thought she would arrive early with all the contractions I had through pregnancy but she just did not want to come early. We were having a home birth and this would be the first out of the three that I had at home and had without an epidural. I went into labor at 5:00am. My other kids were still asleep and my husband was already at work. My contractions were 10 minutes apart and then by 8am they were 2 minutes apart and super strong. My husband got home at 8:20, the midwife arrived at 8:40 and the nurse at 9am. But 9:45 I was 9 centimeters dilated and 90% effaced. It was time to push. I ended up pushing for 20 minutes and she was born.
Baby Abby was born on September 24, 2024 at 10:33am, weighing 7 pounds, 14 ounces. It was truly a crazy but great experience. She had a head full of dark hair and long fingers and toes. My other two kids were able to come in and meet her and were truly in love.
I took her to the studio and did her newborn photos myself. My photographer friend came and took photos of us as a family of five.
Here are some of her photos from our session.
